Cottage Grove Eye Care

What is a Cataract?

A cataract is a cloudy area in the normally clear lens in the front of the eye causing blurred or distorted vision. There is no pain associated with this condition, but symptoms include hazy vision, seeing spots, sensitivity to glare, a feeling of film over the eye and a temporary improvement in near vision. Most cataracts are age related and are very common but not limited to patients nearing 80 years of age. A cataract can occur in either or both eyes but cannot spread from one eye to the other. Call us to set up an appointment if you think you have cataracts or are interested in having cataract surgery to help better your vision!
